The Viking Chronicles in Jels

The viking chronicles in Jels are enacted in Denmark's most beautiful open-air amphitheatre with a view of the Jels lakes. The amfitheatre was opened in 1950's and has been in use ever since. An audience of about 1500 can be accomodated.

In 1977 the first viking chronicle "Roar and Helge" was staged with Peter Marcell as the director. It was during this period that the idea of putting on the viking chonicles in such beautiful surroundings was first expressed.

The viking chronicle are performed every summer and provide and exciting and colourful pageant with many spectacular scenes and fierce sword fights.

The viking chronicles would not be complete without a viking long boat.

In the summer 2010 the title of the viking chronicles are: Harald Blåtand from friday july 2. till sunday july 18. WELCOME
